Baklava Salmon! So toasty from the walnuts and full of flavor, hope you try out this recipe!

I came across Baklava Salmon one day on from user TigerJo~ and just had to try out the recipe! The combination of ingredients surprised me, honey, dijon mustard, walnuts, breadcrumbs and salmon? I just had to test it!

All the ingredients fall within popular trending eating plans like the Nordic diet and the Mediterranean diet. Full of omega 3 fatty acids from the salmon and walnuts which both feature great satisfying sources of lean protein. The toppings give flavor without overpowering the moist flakes of tasty salmon. So good!

Look at that texture! The walnuts are toasted, the breadcrumbs give it a little crunch and the simple sauce doesn’t overwhelm the fresh flavor of moist salmon, so good!

I thawed the boneless, skinless salmon filets in their individual packages by leaving them (frozen) in a bowl of cool water.  After 20 mins or so the fish melts gently within the package and is ready for preparation.

Salt and pepper both top and bottom of the salmon and set aside as you mix the simplest of marinades. Equal portions of softened butter, dijon mustard and raw flower honey. (For 2 pieces, 2 tablespoons each to coat.) The mixture should be slightly creamy and helps adhere the walnut topping to the fish.

Slather the salmon all over with the sweet and tangy dressing, then set aside.

In a small bowl combine a mixture of Panko breadcrumbs (2 to 4 tablespoons), finely chopped walnuts (1/4 of a cup) and a pinch of dried parsley.

“Baklava Salmon” ready for the 400 degree oven for roasting on a foil lined sheet pan!

Gently sprinkle the breading to coat the tops and sides of the fish. (Use a spoon or butter knife to gently press the breading into the sides of the fish.)

This is a similar recipe inspired by Baklava Salmon, Honey Pecan Salmon!! Delicious! *recipe coming soon*

Roast at 400 degrees for 13 minutes until the edges are just beginning to brown and crisp. The fish should flake easily with a fork when done. It was so delicious! I hope you make this and enjoy!
